MEDICAL TREATMENT AND ADVICE
For injuries and 999 emergencies go to the Emergency Department at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington. For general health advice 24 hours a day call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or visit the NHS Direct website.

Emergency Doctors: For medical care Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust provides an out-of-hours service known as OXEMS (Oxford Emergency Medical Service). For medical assistance between 6.30 pm and 8 am Monday-Friday, and 24 hours at weekends and on Bank Holidays, contact OXEMS on 0845 345 8995.
Your call will be answered by Oxfordshire Ambulance Service, who will take your details and pass them to the duty doctor. The doctor will phone you back to discuss the problem and advise the best course of action. This may be telephone advice, an appointment at the OXEMS centre, or a home visit.

Emergency Dentists: When your dentist is closed, for emergency advice or treatment outside of normal working hours, a service is available weekdays from 6.30pm to 10pm and on weekends and bank holidays between 9am and 9pm. Call: 0845 345 8995

Eye Emergencies: Oxford Eye Hospital A&E is open 24 hours for eye emergencies only. Call: 01865 224800

POLICE
Dial 999 in an emergency. It is an emergency if a crime is being committed or is about to be committed, or if there is risk of serious injury.

To report a crime that has already happened, such as a burglary, dial the non-emergency number for Thames Valley Police: 0845 8 505 505. You will be connected to a local police enquiry centre where staff will take the details. Do not contact the police station in Oxford city centre direct.

Thames Water Plumbing Services offer a 24-hour helpline and a promise of a plumber within 2 hours in an uncontrollable plumbing emergency in your home. tel. 08456 020 823. You can report leaks on their website.
