Bus 500 runs approximately every 15-20 minutes from Water Eaton Park & Ride to Summertown and city centre via Banbury Road.
Bus 300 runs approximately every 15-20 minutes from Peartree Park & Ride to Summertown and city centre via Woodstock Road.

Bus 6 runs approximately every 15 minutes to and from Wolvercote to city centre via Woodstock Road. The main Summertown stop is South Parade.

To and from the John Radcliffe Hospital
Bus 700 runs every 15 minutes 6.30am-7pm, but from 3.30-6.45pm does not go through Summertown but round the ring road. Pick up at all bus stops on Banbury Road

Buses 17A and 17C run approximately every hour from the first stop on the Marston Ferry Road

Buses 14 and 14A run approximately every 30 minutes (more frequently in the early morning) from the first stop on the Marston Ferry Road.

 

To and from the station
Buses 20 and 20A run approximately every 30 minutes on Woodstock Road

Bus 17 runs approximately every hour from Cutteslowe via Banbury Road, Woodstock Road and Jericho to Castle Street near the station

Buses 14 and 14A run approximately every 30 minutes (more frequently in early morning) from the first stop on Banbury Road after Marston Ferry Road.

Summertown car park
Access from Banbury Road via Diamond Place (next to Finders Keepers).

Charges: Mon-Sat 08.00 to 18.30 0-1hr 60p, 1-2hrs £1, 2-3hrs £2, 3-4hrs £3, 4-24hrs £10; 18.30 to 08.00 and Sunday 60p flat rate. No change given. Disabled parking free of charge for 4hrs in any 24hrs.

Ferry Pool car park
Access from Marston Ferry Road via Ferry Pool Road. Charges: Mon-Sat 08.00 to 18.30 0-1hr 60p, 1-2hrs £1, 2-3hrs £1.50, 3-4hrs £2.50, 4-24hrs £10; 18.30 to 08.00 and Sunday 70p flat rate.No change given.

Park & Ride
A fast bus service from large car parks beyond the ring road into Summertown and on into the city centre.

Water Eaton Park and Ride
On A4260 between Summertown and Kidlington. Operates Mon-Sat. Parking is free. Return ticket to city centre £2.00, single £1.60. Pick up at selected bus stops on Banbury Road, Summertown.

Peartree Park and Ride
Northwest of Summertown, on A44 north of the ring road. Operates daily but does not stop in Summertown on Sat. Parking is 60p per car. Return ticket to city centre £2.00, single £1.60. Pick up at South Parade bus stop on Woodstock Road only

Street parking
There is limited on-street parking in the Summertown shopping area, on the west side of Banbury Road and on South Parade. In most of the side streets in Summertown a significant amount of the parking is for Resident Permit Holders only. This generally operates 8am-10pm. There are a few spaces for time-limited non-residents’ parking.

 

Resident parking permits

These are issued by Oxfordshire County Council. You can obtain one from Speedwell House, Speedwell St, Oxford OX1 1NE tel 0845 634 4466. Go here for more information

 

BICYCLES

Bicycles can be hired (or bought) from Summertown Cycles on Banbury Road

 

There are cycle lanes on some parts of the Banbury and Woodstock Roads and cycle routes to other areas pass through Summertown
