BUSES
To and from the city centre
City2 buses (2, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D) run every few minutes from Banbury Road stops into the city centre, and from Magdalen Street in the city out to Summertown. The service is run by both the Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach and return tickets and travelcards bought on one service can be used on the other.

Oxford Bus Company's 500 service runs approximately every 15-20 minutes from Water Eaton Park & Ride to Summertown and on on to the city centre via Banbury Road. There is no charge for using this carpark.
Oxford Bus Company's 300 service runs approximately every 15-20 minutes from Peartree Park & Ride to Summertown and on to the city centre via Woodstock Road. There is a charge for using this car park.

South Parade to St Clements
City600 runs every 30 minutes from Pear Tree Park & Ride via the stop at South Parade on the Woodstock Road, on to the University Science Area in South Parks Road and St Clements, before arriving at the John Radcliffe Hospital and returning to Pear Tree via the Woodstock Road.
City6 runs approximately every 15 minutes to and from Wolvercote to the city centre via the Woodstock Road. The main Summertown stop is just after South Parade.

To and from the John Radcliffe Hospital
RH Buses 700 service runs every 15 minutes 6.35am-6.28pm. Pick up at all bus stops on Banbury Road.
The 17A and 17C services run approximately every hour from the Cherwell School stop on the Marston Ferry Road
Stagecoach service 14A runs approximately every 30 minutes from the Cherwell School stop on the Marston Ferry Road.
City600 runs every 30 minutes from the South Parade stop on the Woodstock Road but goes via St Clements so a longer journey.
To and from Oxford Railway station
Buses 14 and 14A run approximately every 30 minutes from 06.17 to 19.14 from the first stop on the Banbury Road after Marston Ferry Road, with a return service from 06.20 to 18.20.
Stagecoach services 17 and 17A run approximately every hour from 07.24 to 16.54 and at 18.09 via Banbury Road, Woodstock Road and Jericho to Castle Street near the station. Return services are from County Hall stop E5 at 07.54 to 17.25. The service runs from the station to the Marston Ferry Road roughly every hour from 19.19 to 23.38. Service 17C runs approximately every hour from 08.50 to 23.12 from the the Cherwell School stop on the Marston Ferry Road to the station and back again.

TRAINS
OXFORD PARKWAY STATION
Oxford Parkway station is about a mile north of Summertown on the Banbury Road/Oxford Road (A4260) to Kidlington at the same site as the Water Eaton Park & Ride (OX2 8HA).
Trains run to and from Oxford Parkway to London Marylebone every half an hour; the journey time is just under an hour. The service is operated by Chiltern Railways and the train also stops at Bicester Village and High Wycombe.
There is a daily 500 Park & Ride bus service to and from Summertown. The journey time is 10-15 minutes.
Oxford Parkway has covered two-level parking for 152 pedal cycles adjacent to the entrance, additional to the existing cycle parking at the nearby Park & Ride. It has CCTV surveillance.The car park has 815 standard spaces, plus 41 spaces for passengers with reduced mobility. There is realtime information about remaining available spaces There is a fee to park a car but the first hour is free. There are also spaces for 30 motorcycles.
Purchase of rail travel tickets is by machine; there is no ticket office at the station but there is an information desk. Toilet and refreshment facilities are also present.

Access from Banbury Road via Diamond Place (next to Finders Keepers).
Charges: Mon-Sun 08.00 to 20.00 0-1hr £1.20, 1-2hrs £1.70, 2-3hrs £3.20, 3-4hrs £5.20, 4-24hrs £13.10. No change given. Evening and daytime tariffs can be combined. Disabled parking free of charge for 4hrs in any 24hrs. You can pay for your parking, or top-up if you need to park longer than you thought, by ringing 01865 989 000 and quoting your number plate and the code 3909. You will then be asked for your credit or debit card number. There is a 20p charge for this service.
Ferry Leisure Centre car park
Access from Marston Ferry Road via Ferry Pool Road. Charges: Mon-Sun 08.00 to 20.00 0-1hr £1.20, 1-2hrs £1.70, 2-3hrs £3.20, 3-4hrs £5.20, 4-24hrs £13.10. No change given. Evening and daytime tariffs can be combined. You can pay for your parking, or top-up if you need to park longer than you thought, by ringing 01865 989 000 and quoting your number plate and the code 3908. You will then be asked for your credit or debit card number. There is a 20p charge for this service.
Alexandra Courts car park
Access from Middle Way - limited spaces. Charges: Mon-Sun 0-1hr 50p, 1-3hrs £1.00, 3-5hrs £2.20, 5-24hrs £10.20.

Park & Ride
Fast bus services operate from large car parks beyond the ring road into Summertown and on into the city centre.
Water Eaton Park & Ride - OX2 8HA
On A4260 between Summertown and Kidlington.
500 bus service operates daily.
Parking is free for the first hour and then £2 for up to 11 hours. Parking up to 72 hours is avaialble.. Return ticket to city centre £2.70, single £1.70.

Northwest of Summertown, on A44 north of the ring road.
300 bus service operates daily but does not stop in Summertown on Sat.

Street parking
There is limited on-street parking in the Summertown shopping area, on the west side of Banbury Road and on South Parade.
In most of the side streets in Summertown a significant amount of the parking is for Resident Permit Holders only. This generally operates 8am-10pm. There are a few spaces for time-limited non-residents’ parking.
Resident and Business parking permits
These are issued by Oxfordshire County Council. You can obtain one from Speedwell House, Speedwell St, Oxford OX1 1NE tel 0845 634 4466. Go here for more information on residents permits and here for business permits.
BICYCLES
Bicycles can be hired (or bought) from Summertown Cycles on Banbury Road
There are cycle lanes on some parts of the Banbury and Woodstock Roads and cycle routes to other areas pass through Summertown. You can download a map of the local cycle network here.
