Leckford Place School is Oxford’s newest independent school. It offers a new option in post primary or prep school education for children in Oxfordshire. Leckford Place is the only independent school in Oxford to be fully co-educational from age 11. We are also a true day school, with no Saturday school and a day that ends at 4.15, with the option of staying on for ‘homework club’ till 5.30 for those who wish to.

We have a maximum class size of 15 from Year 7 to Year 11, and smaller still in d'Overbroeck's Sixth Form, to which our pupils progress post GCSE. The school has a capacity of 225 pupils, and our main entry points are at ages 11 and 13, with academic, music, art and drama scholarships available on entry.

As the first new senior school to open in Oxford for decades, Leckford Place has already demonstrated that it can bring something refreshingly new to the world of independent education in the county.

A recent ISI inspection report stated:
“The school’s aim to place at the core of its work a high standard of teaching which reflects the needs of individual pupils is achieved well. In all sections of the school, and across all subjects, teachers demonstrate high expectations of pupils.
“Pupils benefit from a good programme of extra-curricular activities which includes musical and artistic opportunities, a range of individual and team sports, trips, including travel abroad, and participation in The Duke of Edinburgh’s (DoE) Award scheme.
“The spiritual, moral and cultural development of pupils is good, and their social development is outstanding. The school successfully fulfils its aim to encourage pupils to be happy, grow in self-confidence and become more aware of the world around them.”

Jazz @ Leckford Place

We offer holiday Jazz courses for young musicians aged 10–16 at Leckford Place School. This year's courses are in the February half term 18th–21st February 2008, and on 18th–21st August 2008; mornings only, 9.30–1.00, finishing with a concert to which parents and friends are warmly invited.
